Natroil’s Rosewood Essential Oil is a high-quality aromatic material derived from Aniba rosaeodora, a member of the Aniba genus, closely related to the Cinnamomum family. Several species within this genus—including Aniba duckei, Aniba parviflora, and Aniba rosaeodora—are known for producing the prized “bois de rose” essential oil used in fine fragrance.

Rosewood oil is distinguished by its exceptionally high linalool content, typically ranging between 84–93%, with an average of approximately 85.3%. This linalool occurs as a racemic mixture of d- and l-linalool, contributing to the oil’s smooth, balanced, and diffusive aromatic character. Minor constituents such as α-terpineol (~3.5%) and cis-linalool oxide (~1.5%) further enhance its complexity and refinement.

The result is a beautifully soft, sweet woody-floral aroma with subtle spicy nuances, making rosewood an essential tool in perfumery. It is particularly valued for its ability to round off sharper notes, add body to compositions, and seamlessly bridge floral and woody accords.
